Graphite Products
Flexible graphite is a high-performance sealing and insulation material made by chemically treating natural graphite powder, expanding it at high temperatures, and compressing it into sheets or foils. This process preserves the core benefits of graphite — thermal stability, chemical resistance, and conductivity — while adding flexibility and resilience.
Bili has maintained the special licensing for the export of graphite-based materials for over twenty years. Holding a Special Dangerous Goods Certification that enables compliant shipping to global markets, including Canada and the U.S.
Flexible Graphite Sheets: High Purity – 99.6% Carbon Content
Our standard flexible graphite sheets are manufactured to 99.6% carbon content and a nominal thickness of 1.3 mm, ensuring superior sealing performance in critical industrial applications. These sheets are widely used in heat exchangers, chemical processing equipment, and high-temperature gasketing.
Benefits:
- Excellent thermal conductivity
- High chemical resistance (acids, bases, solvents)
- Low creep and long-term dimensional stability
- Temperature resistance up to 450°C (atmosphere), 3000°C (inert/vacuum)
Custom sizes, rolls, and laminated options with stainless steel or tanged foil backings are available upon request.
Graphite-Based Gaskets, Panels, Ropes & Wires
Beyond flat sheets, we supply a range of graphite-based products including:
- Die-cut gaskets for flanges and pump housings
- Woven graphite ropes for valve stems and high-temp seals
- Conductive wires for thermal shielding
- Laminated panels for insulation and EMI shielding
Each product is tailored for thermal, chemical, or compressive performance — designed to operate in extreme environments across industries like petrochemical, power generation, and aerospace.
Spiral Wound Gaskets: Sealing Solutions for Pressure & Heat
Spiral wound gaskets combine metallic strength with non-metallic sealing to offer reliable performance in flanged joints, especially where temperature and pressure fluctuations occur — such as in oil and gas pipelines, refineries, and chemical plants.
Typical Materials and Construction
Each spiral wound gasket consists of three primary elements:
- Inner Ring – Stainless Steel 316L
Type 316L is a low-carbon Cr-Ni-Mo stainless steel ideal for corrosive environments. It resists pitting in chloride and sulfurous acid environments and maintains corrosion resistance after welding — making it suitable for fluctuating temperatures up to 425°C (800°F). - Centering Ring – Carbon Steel Q235
A widely used structural steel in China, equivalent to ASTM A36 (US) and S235JR (EU). Q235 offers a balance of strength (370–500 MPa) and weldability, making it a cost-effective option for centering and flange alignment. - Filler – Flexible Graphite
Our non-metallic filler is made from expanded graphite and pressed into foil with a minimum of 95% carbon content. This layer delivers chemical resistance, thermal resilience, and conformability to imperfect flange faces — ensuring leak-tight seals in demanding applications.
