Die Cast Aluminum Manufacturing
Aluminum injection molding (also known as die casting) combines the speed and precision of plastic injection molding with the strength, conductivity, and thermal performance of metal. This process is ideal for creating complex, lightweight, high-strength components — including housings, enclosures, and mechanical structures with tight tolerances.
Bili has over 10 years of experience working with a top-tier die casting partner in Qingdao, specializing in large-scale, precision aluminum components for industrial use.
High-Pressure Die Casting – 1250 Ton Capacity High-Precision Casting
Our partner facility operates a brand-new 1250-ton aluminum die casting machine, capable of producing parts with intricate detail and thin wall sections. The high clamping force ensures part accuracy and surface finish consistency across large production runs — making it ideal for structural housings, brackets, and electronic enclosures.
Engineering Specifications Enclosure Case Study
Industrial aluminum enclosures manufactured to the following standards:
- Casting Material: 383 Aluminum Die Cast Alloy (ASTM B85)
- Tolerances: Per NADCA 2003 standards
- Heat Treatment: T4 or T5 temper for dimensional stability
- Surface Finish:
- Conversion coating: Clear trivalent chromate (MIL-C-5541, Class 3)
- Color: Clear to iridescent
- Paint System:
- RAL9006 Light Grey Polyester Powder Coat
- HAA Hardener
- High Gloss (≥ 60 GU)
- Light texture for durability and aesthetic consistency
These finishes enhance corrosion resistance and provide long-lasting protection in harsh industrial environments.
Raw Material Input - 383 Aluminum Alloy Ingots – ASTM Certified
Production begins with 383 aluminum alloy ingots, known for their excellent casting characteristics and mechanical strength. This alloy balances castability with corrosion resistance and is especially suited for parts requiring post-machining or tight dimensional control.
High-Temperature Die Casting: Molten Metal to Mold – In Seconds
Aluminum ingots are melted and injected at high pressure into steel molds using automated die casting machines. This rapid cycle process allows for high repeatability and exceptional part detail, including threaded holes, bosses, and fine contours.
Post-Casting Prep – Deburring & Surface Cleaning
Once cooled and ejected, parts go through initial finishing — including removal of flash, burrs, and gates. This prepares the casting for precision secondary operations such as CNC machining and powder coating. Our partner ensures that each housing meets dimensional and surface specifications before further processing.
Final Machining & Surface Finishing – Precision Machined & Coated Enclosure
The finished aluminum housing is CNC machined, drilled, tapped, and ground to exacting tolerances. A final polyester powder coat adds weather resistance, impact durability, and a clean, professional appearance — ready for integration into your industrial product or system.
